The Law of Attraction


I love metaphysical stuff lately. I'm having fun with it. The latest metaphysical book I like is Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Esther Hicks. It's all about the law of attraction. It's a very concise and articulate read on how like energy attracts like energy. How the universe gives you whatever you ask for. And, how you're telling the universe what to bring you through the vibration under your desire.

Vibrational Set Points


The vibration under your desire is usually set in one of two polarities and the polar location of your vibration is called a vibrational set point:

  • High Frequency Vibrations: (Set Point 1) - Joy, Bliss, Optimism, Gratitude, Abundance, etc...
  • Low Frequency Vibrations: (Set Point 2) - Fear, Lack, Scarcity, Depression, Anxiety, Anger, etc...

For example, the desire "I want a career as a professional hot air balloonist" has a vibration under it. That vibration will determine if your desire will come true (manifest). If the vibration under your desire to be a professional hot air balloonist is vibrating at the set point of fear, lack, scarcity, depression, and anxiety, then the universe will match that vibration. It keeps scarcity of that career in place, and the negative feelings stay and get worse. It will be a long unpleasant journey, and you may never end up being king of the clouds.

However, if the desire "I want a career as a professional hot air balloonist" has the vibration of joy, bliss, optimism, gratitude, and abundance, then the universe matches that vibration. The journey is fun, and the desire manifests quickly according to the book.

Just be self aware to know your vibration under your desire. If you don't like your vibration you can change it.

Changing Your Vibration


If you're already constantly vibrating at a really low frequency ( the vibration of fear, depression etc..) the book gives you steps to increase your vibration in increments. Obviously you can't make the leap from depression to bliss in an hour unless you're tooting some quality coke. Or at least smoking some sticky kind purple haired velcro green bud on the freeway during your morning commute. If you are smoking pot on the freeway I recommend Zig Zig Whites for rolling papers. They don't run and shoot burning pot seeds all over your jeans. Or so I've read. Either way, that vibration changing method doesn't work because you still come down from the buzz, your vibration gets lower, you feel more fear, and want to start a fight with that republican driving the Hummer.

However, you can move your vibration up incrementally to a new constant set point. And, as your vibrations swing up, you'll witness the law of attraction working in a way that you like. The universe becomes your catalog. That sounds fun to me. I'll take a cat that doesn't pee.

Ways to change your vibrations include meditation. I like japa meditation. It's easy and I don't fall asleep, or start thinking about sex when I do it. Another way to change your vibration is to monitor your thoughts and notice which thoughts make you feel bad versus good. While you filter your thoughts, redirect bad thoughts to thoughts that feel good as often as possible. Don't try to supress the bad thoughts. You can observe them, let them pass, and move on to better feeling thoughts. You can also change your vibration by doing activities that make you feel great. Do stuff that gives you a feeling and vibe that is exactly the same as the vibe you'd feel when your desire has already manifested in your life. For example, if your desire is to be a chick magnet, and playing bass guitar in a Black Sabbath tribute band makes you feel like a chick magnet, play out regularly and pow; it's done. Boom: You're a bad ass chick magnet.

Everything Vibrates


The book also points out how everything vibrates. The walls, the dirt on your car, the words in this article, the leather on your wallet, the money in your wallet, cement, and 80s movies - everything. One way to practice changing your vibration is to meditate on the beingness and vibration of a tree. Just stare at the tree, breathe deeply, and match your vibration to the vibration of the tree. Focus on the energy line running up the center of your body from your root chakra. It shoots up the center from the root chakra, through the center of your body, and flows out your third eye chakra. Try it. It's fun. And all the kids are doing this now instead of crystal meth.

I like Ask and It Is Given. I highly recommend it. I'm having fun. You can find and order the book online. However, if you're a guy I recommend you go to the bookstore for this book. This way you can get the phone number of a cute bookish girl while you're looking for the book. There are plenty of attractive bookish girls on It's Just Coffee. But so many guys are afraid to talk to strangers. If that's you, I suggest you go meet some girls in person, too. Besides, if you're truly vibrating at abundance in relation to women, getting a date at the bookstore will be a piece of cake. Now get out there, be real, and don't be a smarmy bastard!
